1. 名詞化(Nominalization)

動詞 → 名詞讓寫作更學術:

普通:He decided to investigate.

2. 倒裝 + 強調

普通:Only after that did I understand.
強調:Only then, after years of struggle, did I finally come to understand.

3. 條件 + 讓步的精緻組合

普通:If we adopt this policy, results will improve.
精緻:Were we to adopt this policy, results would likely improve, 
       albeit gradually.

4. 學術轉折的層次
